Pondok Indah Golf is ready for Asian Games 2018

Golf Test Event “Road to Asian Games 2018” held on 31 October – 3 November 2017, is entering 2nd day (Wednesday, 01/11/2017).

 

Utilizing the exact venue for Asian Games 2018, Pondok Indah Gold, Jakarta, on Golf Test Event titled “National Amateur Championship 2017” INASGOC (Indonesia Asian Games Organizing Committee) and Indonesia Golf Federation (PGI) using the opportunity to test the readiness of the venue.

 

As Venue Manager, Budi Kosasih explained the readiness of Pondok Indah Golf, “This venue is no doubt for the quality. We as the local organizing committee assessed that this venue is proper to be used for the upcoming Asian Games. Pondok Indah Golf has the experience of hosting many prestigious national and international competitions. In addition the participants who come for the competition have an overall satisfying review in regards to the course. Pondok Indah Golf is one of the best golf courses in Indonesia,” explained Budi.

 

The venue was officiated on Independence Day, 17 August 1976, is the only course to host 1983 World Cup. It also just hosted the Indonesia Open Tournament and every year since 2015 has hosted International Junior Competition, all of which is participated by golfers from all over the world.

 

Most of the comments and impression from the golfers are they were satisfied with the Pondok Indah Golf. “Not only the course but also other supporting facilities such as media press room, medical and doping room, technical delegate room, broadcast room, and others. For the Test Event we just see what other things that we can add for Asian Games. Probably VIP tents,” added Budi.

 

Meanwhile for the 2nd round, Wednesday (01/11/2017) for Men’s Individual, came in first is Naraajie Emerald Ramadhan (West Java) with 69 strokes and total of 139 strokes (under, -5). Followed by Kevin Caesario Akbar, West Java with 71 strokes by total of 142 (-2). And in 3rd is Rizky Subakti who was on the tenth in 1st round. The South Sumatra Golfer placed 3rd with 71 strokes and total of 147 strokes (over, +3).

 

“I have a great game for the past two days. Even though it is tiring because a day before this Test Event started I was just arrived from New Zealand, I was invited to participate in “Asia Pacific Amateur Championship” but I am very happy with today’s result. For me all the participants are very strong especially the ones from National Training Program (Pelatnas). My target is to give my best effort,” said Naraajie. He also added that the Pondok Indah Golf Course is perfect, no need for renovation.

 

In Women’s Individual, first came in Patricia Sinolungan (West Java) where before she was in 2nd. Patricia has 73 strokes with total 144 (PAR). 2nd are Ribka Vania (West Java/ 71) and Rivani Adelia Sihotang (DKI Jakarta/ 72) with total 146 (+2). On the fourth is Michela Tjan, on the 1st round she was on top but in the 2nd she has to stay in fourth with 78 strokes 147 (+3).

 

2nd round for Men’s Team, DKI Jakarta managed to climbed to the 1st with Stevanus Daniel Wirawan as Team’s Captain (strokes:*78*), Aqil Widyantoro (strokes:80) and M. Rifqi Alam Ramadhan (strokes:*74*) with total of 304 strokes. East Java is in 2nd with Roger Christo Lianto (strokes: *75*), Jose Suryadinata as team’s captain (strokes :*77*), Christoffer Goh (strokes: 90) with total of 304 strokes. And came in 3rd is East Kalimantan with  Sudirman as Team’s Captain (strokes *75*), Sainuddin Bob (strokes: *79*) and Ramansyah (strokes:84) with total of 310.
